Evansville, IN (April 6, 2009) – For the 1st time in 44 years the DC Road Runners Club (DCRRC), located in Washington D.C., will be able to offer transponder timed events to its members. The DCRRC has purchased new timing equipment from ChronoTrack Systems, the leader in disposable timing, to meet the needs of their running club. Over the years DCRRC, has offered outstanding services to its member, provide a year-round schedule of running events that offers everyone a chance to participate regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability. With ChronoTrack Systems the DCRRC is hoping to streamline operations while still keeping in-line with their budget.

“Until the arrival of the ChronoTrack system we used a paper tape timer and note cards or bib rip strip system. We are excited to automate most of our races, especially the prospect of needing fewer finish line volunteers.” Said Brian Danza, one of the 11 board members on DCRRC.

The DCRRC conducted a thorough evaluation of other timing systems before deciding to make the move to ChronoTrack Systems. The DCRRC found that ChronoTrack was the best choice to provide the right solution to accommodate their club. According to Danza, after surveying marathons and other running events in the area, the DCRRC gained further confidence in ChronoTrack strong reputation.

“We chose ChronoTrack after looking at all the alternatives and coming up with a price/value justification for the system,” said Danza. “The fact that ChronoTrack Systems were used in a few local races like Marine Corps Marathon made the decision easier.”

ChronoTrack will provide the DCRRC with their new timing systems in the beginning of April 2009. DCRRC hosts numerous races throughout the year, most of which were hand timed; DCRRC plans on transitioning to a fully automated system for their entire race calendar. Races of note that will be switching to ChronoTrack timing this year will be the National Capitol 20 Miler, George Washington Marathon, Alexandria Turkey Trot.
